IceCaps Release Matthew Kirzinger from ATO

The St. John's IceCaps announced today they have released centre Matthew Kirzinger from his amateur tryout contract. The 25-year-old suited up in two games with the IceCaps, recording one assist with a plus-one rating.

Prior to joining the IceCaps, Kirzinger had played in 11 games with Ferris State University this season. In that time, the Leroy, SK native recorded four points (1G, 3A) and 17 penalty minutes. Over his four seasons with Ferris State, Kirzinger has played in 130 games, recording 68 points (27G, 41A) and 165 penalty minutes.
