Monsters Haunt Bulldogs 6-2

Hamilton, Ontario - The Lake Erie Monsters defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 6-2 on Friday night at Copps Coliseum. Andrew Agozzino scored two goals, including the game-winner, and added an assist while Tomas Vincour had three assists for the Monsters.

The Monsters opened the scoring 46 seconds into the game as John Negrin took a shot from the left point and the puck flew through a screen and eluded Hamilton Bulldogs starting goaltender Dustin Tokarski. Lake Erie grabbed a 2-0 lead at 4:30 of the first period as a loose puck came out to Luke Walker at the top of the crease who made a move around Tokarski and slid the puck past him into the net.

The Monsters made it 3-0 as Vincour came down the left side and slid the puck into the slot to Agozzino who put the puck past Tokarski at 7:23 of the first frame. Paul Carey scored on a backhand after receiving a pass from Marc Hagel to make it 4-0 for the Monsters at 12:20 of the first. After the goal, Jacob Gervais-Chouinard relieved Tokarski.

Agozzino scored his second goal of the game 24 seconds into the third stanza on a rebound off of a Vincour shot from the slot. Dean Strong poked in a bouncing puck past Gervais-Chouinard at 5:07 of the third frame to give Lake Erie a 6-0 lead.

The Bulldogs got on the board at 5:57 of the third as Kyle Hagel took the puck off of a Monsters defender and skated in and roofed the puck over Lake Erie Monsters starting goaltender Calvin Pickard. Michael Bournival scored his ninth goal of the season at 15:08 of the third frame off of a shot from the right circle.

The Bulldogs' next game is against the Lake Erie Monsters in Cleveland tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. All 'Dogs games will be broadcast on Hamilton's Funny 820 (AM 820).
