Timber Rattlers Rained out on Thursday

April 11, 2013 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Wisconsin Timber Rattlers News Release

GRAND CHUTE, WI - Three straight hits, home runs, or wins are great streaks in baseball. Three straight weather postponements is a really bad thing. The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers - along with the rest of Northeastern Wisconsin - are on a really bad run of weather. Thursday's cold temperatures and rain have forced the Rattlers to postpone tonight's game at Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium.

This is the third consecutive postponement of the 2013 season for the Rattlers. They were to take on the Cedar Rapids Kernels on Tuesday and Wednesday before weather wiped out those games. The Kane County Cougars, the new Midwest League affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, were set to play the Rattlers Thursday night. But that game will now be rescheduled as a doubleheader on Friday with the first game of two seven inning games will start at 5:05pm.

Wisconsin lost five consecutive home dates to weather in 2003. All four games of a series against the Beloit Snappers were snowed out from April 3 through April 6 of 2003. The first game of a series with the Clinton LumberKings was rained out on April 8.

There was originally a game scheduled against Clinton on April 7, 2003 but the teams switched an off day from April 10 to April 7. In case you are wondering, if the teams had not switched around that off day, there would have been six straight postponements in 2003 because the weather was terrible on April 7 of that season, too.

Tickets for games that were scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday of this week may be exchanged - based on availability - for any regular season 2013 Timber Rattlers' home game.

If the weather cooperates, the Timber Rattlers will open their series with a doubleheader against Kane County on Friday evening at Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium. Game one is scheduled to start at 5:05pm on a North Shore Bank/ Y-100 Family Night. Children 12 and under receive a free hot dog and soda. Plus, children 14 and under may run the bases after game two courtesy of Molina Health Care.

Fans with tickets to Friday's game may use their tickets for both games of the twinbill.

Tickets for Friday's doubleheader or any of the remaining games on the home schedule may be purchased over the phone at (920) 733-4152 or 800-WI-TIMBER, on timberrattlers.com, or in person at the Timber Rattlers Box Office.
