Jones traded to Baltimore

PEARL, MS -- LHP Chris Jones has been traded as part of a two-player trade between the Atlanta Braves and the Baltimore Orioles. Atlanta acquired veteran RHP Luis Ayala from the Orioles. Ayala is expected to the join the Atlanta Braves in Washington Friday.

Jones, 24, appeared in one game for the M-Braves this season. He allowed two earned runs on two hits and a couple walks in one and one-third innings Saturday, April 6. Jones struck out one batter in that outing.

Originally obtained by the Braves from the Cleveland Indians in exchange for RHP Derek Lowe on October 31, 2011, Jones spent the 2012 season with Double-A Mississippi. He posted a record of 2-5 with a 3.90 ERA. In his 45 appearances, Jones struck out 61 batters and walked 19 in 60 innings pitched.

The Mississippi roster has 24 active players and 4 disabled.
