AND THAT'S A WRAP : Portland concludes their six-game homestand on Wednesday night, taking on the Reading Fightin Phils in game three of the series...The Sea Dogs have dropped three straight, with their lone win on April 5th vs. Trenton...Lefty Drake Britton makes his second start of the season, and the second of his career against Reading...Reading's Jesse Biddle is coming off six strong innings in his season debut against New Hampshire.
FIRST TO SCORE WINS...NOT LAST NIGHT : Michael Almanzar drove in Portland's two runs with a double in the first, but Reading used a two-run sixth, to beat Portland 3-2 on Tuesday night. David Buchanan (1-1) worked six innings on five hits and two runs to earn the win for Reading. Daniel Bard (0-1) surrendered the lead in the sixth, and took the loss for Portland. Jim Murphy tied the game with a single, and Zach Collier scored the winning run on a wild pitch. Kyle Simon earned the save, working the two scoreless frames, but inducing double-play balls to end the 8th and 9th.
