Rome Emperors News Release
Rome, GA - The Greensboro Grasshoppers defeated the Rome Braves 7-2 Tuesday night in the second game of a three game series before a crowd of 1,709.
Five runs in the first inning proved to be all the offense Greensboro would need. An RBI double by Viosergy Rosa, RBI singles by Jesus Solorzano and Yeison Hernandez along with a wild pitch to score a run added to the Braves first inning woes.
Rome would cut into the lead in the third with two runs thanks to back to back run scoring doubles by Edison Sanchez and Carlos Franco. Greensboro answered back with runs in the fifth and seventh innings, and two runs in the ninth for the 7-2 final.
Dane Stone (2-0) gets the win for Greensboro while Rome starter Rafael Briceno (0-1) is charged with the loss.
Rome takes on Greensboro tomorrow afternoon at 1PM for the final game of the series. For ticket information, contact the Rome Braves at 706-378-5144 or log onto www.romebraves.com.
