LAST WEEK'S RESULTS

April 2: at Oklahoma City - Barons 4, Bulldogs 1

Jonathan Cheechoo scored the winning goal at 9:42 of the second period as the Barons won the first-ever meeting between the teams. Chris VandeVelde opened the scoring for the home side at 15:35 of the second period, but Kyle Hagel replied with his first goal of the season to tie the game at 17:56. Brandon Davidson and Tanner House closed the scoring with empty-net goals in the final minute. Robert Mayer made 24 saves for the Bulldogs who were 0-for-4 on the power play. The Barons, who were 0-for-1 on the power play, got 19 saves from Yann Danis.

April 5: at San Antonio - Bulldogs 4, Rampage 2

Alex Belzile's third goal of the season, at 11:40 of the second period, proved the winner as the Bulldogs skated to a 4-2 decision. Petteri Nokelainen's first goal with the Bulldogs gave the visitors and early lead at 4:43 of the first period and Patrick Holland's ninth goal of the campaign made it 2-0 at 14:54. Greg Rallo made it 2-1 49 seconds into the second period and Colby Robak tied the game on the power play at 3:52. Nathan Beaulieu gave the Bulldogs a two-goal lead with a shorthanded score at 18:15 of the third period. Robert Mayer made 36 saves including denying Jon Rheault on a first-period penalty shot, and Joey Tenute earned two assists for the Bulldogs who were 0-for-8 on the power play. Brian Foster faced 33 shots for the Rampage, which was 1-for-5 with the man advantage.

April 6: at Cedar Park - Bulldogs 2, Stars 1

Charles Hudon's first professional goal, goal at 19:35 of the third period lifted the Bulldogs to a 2-1 win. Travis Morin gave the Stars a 1-0 lead at 2:09 of the second period, but Patrick Holland's 10th goal of the season tied the game at 13:44 of the third. Dustin Tokarski made 29 saves to pick up the win while Cristopher Nilstrop faced 22 shots for the Stars. The Bulldogs were 0-for-2 with the man advantage, Texas was 1-for-5.

April 7: at Houston - Aeros 2, Bulldogs 0

Jeff Deslauriers made 22 saves to earn his first shutout of the season as he backstopped the Aeros to a 2-0 win. Dan DaSilva opened the scoring at 8:41 of the first period and Nick Petersen followed with a goal at 12:50 of the third. Robert Mayer made 27 saves as the Bulldogs went 0-for-3 on the power play. The Aeros were 0-for-2.

TEAM NOTES The Bulldogs are 18th in the league in attendance, averaging 5,348 fans per game through 34 home dates ... Four of the Bulldogs' six remaining games are at home ... The Bulldogs were mathematically eliminated from playoff contention after a 2-0 road loss to the Houston Aeros on Sunday. They are 17 points out of the final Western Conference playoff spot ... The Bulldogs won both of their games this season against the Texas Stars, the top team in the Western Conference. Both games were 2-1 decisions ... The Bulldogs' eight power plays at San Antonio matched the team's high for this season set in a 6-1 road loss to the Toronto Marlies on Nov. 17 ... The Bulldogs have one goal in 32 power plays over their last 10 road games ... The Bulldogs are 10th in the AHL in penalty minutes, averaging 19.06 per game ... D Nathan Beaulieu recorded one goal and two assists for three points in two games with the Bulldogs after being returned by the Montreal Canadiens. At the time of his second promotion to the Canadiens Beaulieu was leading Bulldogs defencemen with seven goals and 28 points. He earned one assist in two games in his first callup to the Canadiens ... RW Alex Belzile has three goals and four assists for seven points in nine games with the Bulldogs ... At the time of his promotion to the Canadiens, C Gabriel Dumont was the team's leading scorer with 16 goals and 15 assists for 31 points ... LW Kyle Hagel scored his first goal of the season in a 4-1 road loss to the Oklahoma City Barons on April 2. The goal was his first in the AHL since March 20, 2011 when he scored for the Rockford IceHogs in a 5-3 road loss to the Grand Rapids Griffins. A shoulder injury limited Hagel to only seven games last season with the Peoria Rivermen ... RW Patrick Holland has contributed two goals and four assists for six points in his last seven games ... LW Charles Hudon, 18, was a fifth-round pick of the Canadiens in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He has recorded 78 goals and 119 assists for 197 points in three seasons with the Chicoutimi Sagueneens of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. His first professional goal lifted the Bulldogs to a 2-1 win over the Texas Stars on April 6 ... RW Danny Kristo, 22, finished a four-year career at the University of North Dakota with 68 goals and 93 assists for 161 points. A second-round choice of the Canadiens in the 2008 Entry Draft, Kristo recorded his first professional point with an assist on Belzile's game-winning goal in a 4-2 road win over the San Antonio Rampage on April 5 ... RW Petteri Nokelainen recorded one goal and one assist at San Antonio. The points, his first with the Bulldogs, were his first in the AHL since 2007-08 when he was a member of the Providence Bruins ... RW Zack Stortini is fifth in the AHL with 220 penalty minutes ... C Joey Tenute has registered seven points, including two goals, in his last eight games.

BOWLING WITH THE 'DOGS

The Bulldogs and the Hamilton Bulldogs Foundation will be holding their second annual Bowling with the 'Dogs event on Tuesday, April 9th at Splitsville Entertainment.

Fans have the opportunity to socialize with their favorite Bulldogs players and find out if their skill extends beyond the rink to the bowling alley. There will be special contest lanes running throughout the event as well as door prizes and raffles for Bulldogs merchandise.

The event is a fundraiser for the Hamilton Bulldogs Foundation in support of the "Dawgs Breakfast" Program which funds three high needs Hamilton area schools.

2013 BULLDOGS SUMMER HOCKEY CAMP

The Bulldogs will be running a summer hockey camp at the Mohawk 4 Ice Centre in Hamilton from July 29 to August 2. The full-day camp is for kids between the ages of 7-13 and will feature guest appearances by current members of the Bulldogs' coaching staff and current and former Bulldogs players.
