Barons Beat Bulldogs 4-1

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - The Oklahoma City Barons defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 4-1 on Tuesday night at Cox Convention Center. Jonathan Cheechoo scored the game-winner and Teemu Hartikainen notched two assists for the Barons.

After a scoreless first period, the Barons led the Bulldogs 8-2 in shots.

Oklahoma City opened the scoring at 15:05 of the second frame on a tally by Chris VandeVelde. Hamilton Bulldogs starting goaltender Robert Mayer stopped the first shot by Hartikainen who was able to knock a rebound, which was tipped by VandeVelde, past Mayer.

Hamilton tied the score at 17:56 of the second period as Kyle Hagel notched his first goal of the season in his 58th game putting a shot past Oklahoma City Barons starting goaltender Yann Danis.

The Barons took a 2-1 lead at 9:42 of the third stanza as Mark Arcobello took a shot from the far circle which was tipped by Cheechoo behind Mayer. Brandon Davidson put one in the empty net at 19:00 of the third period and then Tanner House added another goal into the empty net at 19:27 of the final frame. Oklahoma City outshot Hamilton 28-20 to finish the game.

The Bulldogs' next game is against the Rampage in San Antonio on Friday, April 5th at 8:30 p.m. All 'Dogs games will be broadcast on Hamilton's Funny 820 (AM 820).
