Royals Announce Series of Transactions

Reading Royals News Release
Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, today announced a series of transactions. It is currently expected that 2013 Kelly Cup Playoff Rosters will be announced on Tuesday, April 2.
In the transactions announced today: (i) defenseman Brett Flemming was assigned by the Capitals from the Bears to the Royals; (ii) goaltender Mark Owuya was assigned by the Toronto Maple Leafs of the NHL from the Toronto Marlies of the AHL to the Royals; (iii) forward Danick Paquette was recalled by the Capitals from Reading and assigned to Hershey; (iv) forward David Civitarese was recalled by the Hershey Bears; and (iv) defenseman Joe Sova was recalled by the Carolina Hurricanes of the NHL from Reading and assigned to the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL. In other transactions announced today, the Royals also: (i) activated Kirk MacDonald from the team's Reserve List; (ii) released defenseman Bobby Shea from his Amateur Tryout Agreement; (iii) signed defenseman Bobby Shea to an ECHL contract; and (iv) released defenseman Chris Saracino from his ECHL Contract.
Royals playoff tickets are now on sale. The Eastern Conference Quarterfinal best of seven series against the Greenville Road Warriors will start with Game One on Friday, April 5 (@7:05 pm) at Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania. Friday's game night broadcast on CBS Sports Radio 1240 am and 98.5 fm will kick off with the pre-game warm-up show presented by Steve Moyer Subaru at 6:35 pm. Game Two of the best of seven series will be played at the Sovereign Center on Saturday, April 6 (@7:05 pm).
