Nationals Announce Expansion of Front OfficeApril 1, 2013 - Major League Lacrosse (MLL) - Hamilton Nationals Press Release
The Nats are in their third year playing out of Ron Joyce Stadium at McMaster University located Hamilton's west end. The Major League Lacrosse team is planning a major community push to increase ticket sales and sponsorships for the upcoming season.
They have recently set up a sales office in Westdale Village, a small commercial/residential area adjacent to the university and are ramping up their sales staff to meet the challenge.
Dave Robinson started with the team in mid-March in the capacity of VP Sales & Marketing. Previously, Robinson was operating his own sports marketing company servicing amateur teams, leagues and special events. He has also been a licensed commercial insurance broker for the last 25 years with experience in dealing with a wide variety of commercial clients. To complement his experience, he has an undergrad from Ryerson University and a MBA from the University of Phoenix.
"Taking over the marketing of a pro sports team is certainly a challenge but I am looking forward to getting things up and running," said Robinson. "We have some good staff on board already who have had some previous success so we will build on that with the hire of two more full-time folks in the coming weeks.
"Our corporate sales brochure is now on our web site and we are now reaching out to the local community with ticket sales strategies and corporate offerings," he added. "There is certainly a lot of work to do but we should see the fruits of our labor as the season progresses."
When Robinson is not engaged in Nats business, he lives in nearby Mississauga with his wife of 31 years. His only daughter is in third year at University of Western Ontario. Dave is an avid hockey player, skier, triathlete on his days off.
