Panthers Reassign Defensemen Mike Caruso and Colby Robak to San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO (March 29, 2013) - Florida Panthers Executive VP/General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has returned on loan defensemen Mike Caruso and Colby Robak to the San Antonio Rampage (AHL).

Caruso, 24, was on the Panther's Opening Night roster and made his NHL debut on Jan. 19. The 6-foot-2, 191-pound defenseman played in two games for the Panthers this season. Before being recalled to Florida, Caruso played in 32 games for the Rampage, tallying one goal and three assists and a plus-4 rating. The Panthers fourth-round draft pick (103rd overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft recorded 13 points (five goals, eight assists) last year in his first season with the Rampage.

Robak, 22, played in 15 games for the Panthers and recorded one assist and 17 penalty minutes from the blueline. Robak has now suited up for the Panthers in 18 career games. Prior to his recall on Feb. 22, the 6-foot-3, 210-pound defenseman led the Rampage in scoring from the blueline with three goals and 16 assists in 52 games. Robak, who was drafted by the Panthers in the second round (46th overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft, recorded 39 points (nine goals, 30 assists) in 73 games for the Rampage last season.

The Rampage kick off their final road trip outside the state of Texas tonight (Friday) in the first of a two-game set against the Charlotte Checkers. The two teams will square off again on Saturday night to wrap up the season series.
