Titans GameDay vs. Wheeling, March 23 - Game 68 (Home 36 - Final Home Game)

March 23, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Trenton Titans News Release

Last Meeting

March 23, 2013 - Shane Harper recorded his first ECHL hat trick and Scott Wedgewood made it stand with a 30-save effort as the won at home, 5-2, over the Nailers.

Next Meeting

The Titans and Nailers go at it one last time in 2012-13. This time it will be at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, WV, on the final day of the season, March 30 at 7:05.

Record (Home/Away); Streaks

Wheeling: 9-20-2-3 Road, with two wins in Trenton (4-6 in last 10 on the road). The Nailers are 5-4-0-1 in their last 10 overall. Trenton: 17-14-2-2 Home (5-5 in last 10 at home including 2-1 in OT/SO). The Titans are 6-4 overall in their last 10.

Home Improvement

Thanks to last night's win, the Titans are guaranteed to finish with a plus-.500 record at home. The last time Trenton was .500 or better at SNBC was during the 2009-10 season, when the then-Trenton Devils went 19-10-2-5.

Playoffs Almost Set

Losses by Wheeling and Ft Wayne, plus Toledo's win, have all but set the Top 8 for the post-season. The only team left with a chance to sneak in is Kalamazoo, but it must run the table in its last 5 games. A loss by the Wings eliminates them.

Also, any point in the last 3 for Greenville puts it in the playoffs. A single win by Florida (5 games left) and Toledo (4) gets them invited to the playoffs.

Greenville is off this weekend, Florida hosts #2 ranked Cincinnati (7 EST) and Toledo hosts the top team in the East Reading (7:05 EST). Kalamazoo will start in Evansville and hour later.

You can bet there will be some SERIOUS scoreboard watching there as FLA and TOL will finish befor the Wings do.
