San Francisco Bulls News Release

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Daultan Leveille scored in his debut to give San Francisco the lead in the second period, but the San Francisco Bulls (24-35-1-7) were defeated by the Stockton Thunder (35-26-5-4) 2-1 in the shootout, Friday night at the Cow Palace. Stockton forced overtime with a goal scored right before time expired in the third period. Taylor Nelson was fantastic in the net for the Bulls, making 32 saves.

Neither team scored in the opening period, but the Bulls and Thunder were not without quality scoring chances. Nelson was called upon to make a few big saves for the Bulls, and came up huge making six saves. Christian Ouellet was awarded a penalty shot midway through the period, but his shot was saved by goaltender Olivier Roy, who made 13 saves in the period.

The Bulls broke through late in the second period with 2:50 remaining to take a 1-0 lead. A rush up the ice by Leveille and Nick Czinder led to a scrum in front of Roy. While making the save, Roy's momentum put himself into his own net with the puck under his pads. After the whistle the referee determined that the puck had crossed the goal line. Leveille was credited with his fifth goal of the season. Czinder and Dylan King assisted on the first goal of the game.

The Bulls were unable to withstand a very late push by the Thunder. With Roy pulled for an extra attacker, Shawn Weller was able to sneak the puck through the pads of Nelson right before time expired in the third period. Ryan Hayes picked up the lone assist on the game-tying goal.

Hayes and Weller scored goals for Stockton in the shootout. Olivier Roy stopped all but one attempt in the shootout to seal the victory for the Thunder. Bryan Cameron scored the lone goal for San Francisco.
