Collins Assigned By Blue Jackets

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons announced on Saturday that forward Sean Collins has been assigned to the club by its NHL affiliate, the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Collins, 24, made his NHL debut earlier this season with Columbus and is scoreless in two contests with the Blue Jackets. He has 20 points (7g-13a) in 53 outings with the Falcons in 2012-2013. Collins was recalled by Columbus on Friday but did not play in the club's 1-0 shootout win over Phoenix on Saturday.

A rookie from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Collins has 25 points (8g-17a) in 61-career AHL contests. He was taken by Columbus in the seventh round (187th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

After heading to Connecticut to battle the Whale on Sunday at 3 p.m., Springfield returns home on Wednesday to host Manchester before welcoming Worcester to the MassMutual Center on Friday. Both home games begin at 7 p.m.

Single-game tickets to see the Falcons in 2012-2013 can be purchased at the MassMutual Center Box Office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. through game time on Saturday home dates, and starting four hours prior to Sunday home contests.
