2011 First-Round Pick Nicklas Jensen Joins Wolves

The Vancouver Canucks have reassigned right wing NICKLAS JENSEN from AIK of the Swedish Elite League to the Chicago Wolves.

JENSEN paced AIK with 17 goals and shared fourth on the team with 23 points in 50 games this season. His 17 markers paced Swedish Elite League rookies and shared 11th overall in the circuit.

The 20-year-old forward skated in six regular-season games with the Wolves last year, collecting 4 goals and six penalty minutes. He also bagged 2 goals in two Calder Cup playoff games before suffering an injury in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.

Before joining Chicago last year, the Herning, Denmark, native ranked third on the Oshawa Generals (OHL) with 25 goals and shared third on the team with 58 points in 57 regular-season contests. He also ranked second on the Generals with a career-best 33 assists.

JENSEN was the Vancouver Canucks first choice, 29th overall, in the 2011 National Hockey League Entry Draft after he recorded 29 goals, 29 assists and 58 points in 61 games with Oshawa during the 2010-11 campaign en route to being named to the 2011 OHL All-Rookie Team. Overall, he amassed 54 goals, 62 assists, and 116 points in 118 career OHL games with Oshawa spanning two seasons (2010-12).
