Toronto, ON - The Calgary Roughnecks fell 17-12 to the league-leading Toronto Rock Friday evening at the Air Canada Centre.
Dane Dobbie, who notched a hat trick in the opening quarter, finished the game with five goals and two assists for Calgary. Curtis Dickson (2g, 1a), Jeff Shattler (2g, 1a) and Scott Ranger (1g, 2a) each tallied three points, while Dan MacRae and Peter McFetridge added single markers in the loss. Shawn Evans, now with a team-leading 43 points, chipped in four assists.
Garrett Billings led the Rock with six goals and four assists, while Colin Doyle notched a hat trick and set up four others in the win. Former Roughneck Josh Sanderson (2g, 2a), Stephan Leblanc (2g, 2a) and Kasey Berines (1g, 3a) each recorded four-point efforts for Toronto, while Jesse Gamble (2g) and Mike Hobbins (1g) completed the scoring tally.
Mike Poulin, relieved by Frankie Scigliano late in the fourth quarter, faced a combined 49 shots.
Calgary (4-3) returns to action on Saturday, February 16 when the Roughnecks visit the Minnesota Swarm (2-3), with a 5 p.m. MT face-off.
