Victoria HarbourCats Finalize Front Office Staff

February 12, 2013 - West Coast League (WCL) Victoria HabourCats

Victoria, BC - General Manager Holly Jones is pleased to announce the front office staff that will guide the Victoria HarbourCats through their inaugural season and beyond.

"We have assembled a strong front office team with a wide variety of skill sets and experience. Many of our staff members have strong relationships with both the business and baseball communities here in Victoria," noted Jones. "We are also pleased with the partnerships we have built with Camosun College and the University of Victoria, and we are excited to continue to bring onboard local students and talent in the years to come."

In addition to General Manager Jones, the HarbourCats front office staff includes:

Christian J. Stewart - Director of Communications and Photography Chris is responsible for all communications, media and public relations activities. He is also the team photographer. A well known coach, executive and media professional in the minor baseball and sporting community in Victoria, Chris is also a contributing photographer and reporter for Island Sports News and the official photographer for the Saanich Braves Junior Hockey Club.

Helen Welch - Sponsorship Sales Director Helen is responsible for local sponsorship sales and business development. A graduate of the University of Victoria and a currently enrolled in the Project Management program at Royal Roads University, Helen comes to the HarbourCats after a nearly 20-year career with Tourism Victoria where she served as their Vice President of Visitor Services & Market Development.

Gareth Gilson - Ticketing and Technology Operations Manager Gareth is responsible for the strategy and execution of ticketing and technology operations. Gareth is also responsible for financial reporting. A graduate of Belmont High in Victoria, Gareth is currently an accounting major at Camosun College in Victoria, where he is completing his Bachelor of Business Administration.

Jakki Corrigan - Merchandise and Design Coordinator Jakki is responsible for developing, designing and managing all team merchandise, team branding and the team's yet-to-be-announced mascot. A graduate of Claremont High School in Victoria, Jakki is majoring in marketing and communications at Camosun College where she is completing her Bachelor of Business Administration.

Mike Wysiecki - Marketing and Game Night Operations Manager Mike is responsible for building and executing the promotional game-night calendar. He is also involved in executing the team marketing and advertising strategies. A graduate of Belmont High and a business major at UVic, Mike spent the summer of 2012 in a sales intern role with the Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club.

Karen Russell - Billeting and Player Transportation Coordinator Karen is responsible for coordinating host family programs and for coordinating transport of players to and from Victoria at the start and end of the season. A long-time Victoria resident, Karen spent a number of years as the Business Manager for the Victoria Mariners Premier Baseball Club.

Alex Sessa - Equipment and Operations Coordinator Alex manages and coordinates all of the team's equipment and team logistical processes and planning. Alex is a student in the High Performance Sport program at Camosun College and plays in the Victoria Mavericks Senior Men's Baseball League.

Brad Norris-Jones - Ticket Sales Director Brad is responsible for group and 50/50 ticket sales efforts. As a small business owner in Victoria, Brad is well established in the Victoria sport community and has a long involvement in Victoria minor baseball and with the Victoria Mariners Premier Baseball Club.

Jon Shah - Sponsorship and Operations Coordinator Jon's is responsible for sponsorship relationships, but also is helping with the strategy and execution of baseball infrastructure projects at Royal Athletic Park. Jon is a graduate of Belmont High in Victoria and is currently a Marketing and Communications major at Camosun College.

Cristina Grimm - Sponsor Relations Director Cristina is a Vancouver-based marketing and business development professional who is handling business and sponsorship initiatives with local and national partners. She is a graduate of BCIT and Royal Roads University and is also an instructor at BCIT.
