JUNIOR ICE DEBUT: Defenseman Grant Hutton made his Ice debut over the weekend playing in both games against Muskegon and Youngstown. The 6-2 blueliner is a native of Carmel, IN and was the top defenseman on the Indiana Junior Ice's U16 club last year. He was drafted by the Ice in the 2012 USHL Entry Draft and has been playing this season for the Corpus Christi Rays (NAHL).

DEBUT PART TWO: Forwards Patrick Newell and Bryan Yim also made their Ice debuts over the weekend. Newell was the top scoring 16-year-old in the NAHL as a member of the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, while Yim was the third leading scorer for the Port Huron Fighting Falcons (NAHL).

CHANGING OF THE GUARD: With the recent changes to the roster, the captain and assistant captains were announced last week. Veteran forward Austin Hervey assumes the role as captain, while the "A" will be shared among forwards Tyler Pham and Zach Aman and defensemen Matt Krug and Joe Fiala.

PLAYER INSERTS: Austin Ortega (Fargo), Brian Morgan (Muskegon) and Drew Smolcynski (Chicago) were traded last week for high draft picks and future considerations...Dalton Izyk played in his 50th game with the Ice on Sunday...Joe Fiala is two games shy of 100 for his Ice career...Bryan Yim recorded his first USHL assist in Sunday's contest...Zach Aman was injured in Saturday's contest in Muskegon.

TEAM PAGES: The Ice outshot Muskegon and Youngstown 77-51 over the weekend... Indy is just 1-3 in shootouts this year...The Ice has successfully killed off 11 of their last 12 opponents' power play opportunities...The Ice own the league's fifth-best power play conversion on home ice (21.9%).

ALUMNI ROLL CALL: Collegiately- Nick Bailen (05-08, 09-10) led Ice alumni in scoring with five points (3G, 2A) in two weekend wins for RPI...Multiple point weekends also included Cristoval Nieves (11-12, Michigan), Nic Dowd (09-10, St. Cloud), David Johnstone (09-11, Michigan Tech), Nick Mattson (09-11, North Dakota) and Will MacDonald (07-09, Princeton). ..Professionally- Daniil Tarasov (10-12) notched three goals last week for Worcester, AHL...Stanislav Galiev (08-09) compiled four points (3G, A) in games last week for Reading, ECHL.
