Atlanta Dream Announces 2013 Schedule

ATLANTA, Feb. 6, 2013 - The Atlanta Dream will begin its quest for a fifth consecutive trip to the WNBA playoffs when the team tips off the 2013 regular season with a home game against the Tulsa Shock on Saturday, May 25.The Dream will play 17 home games this summer at Philips Arena, including 12 weekend/holiday dates. Highlights include an Aug. 20 visit from Maya Moore and the two-time defending Western Conference Champion Minnesota Lynx, a Labor Day showdown against Candace Parker and the Los Angeles Sparks on Sept. 2, a Sept. 8 visit by Diana Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury, and the annual noon-tipoff Kid's Day game against the defending WNBA Champion Indiana Fever on June 25.
The Dream's 34-game schedule for 2013 will include 22 games against the other five teams from the Eastern Conference. The Dream will play five games against Connecticut and Washington, and four each against Chicago, Indiana and New York. The other 12 games will come against the six Western Conference teams, with one home and one road game against each.
Also highlighting the WNBA schedule this year will be the league's 11 th All-Star game, when Boost Mobile WNBA All-Star 2013 takes place Saturday, July 27. The game will tip off at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., at 3:30 p.m. ET and will be televised by ABC.
The two-time Eastern Conference Champion Atlanta Dream will compete in its sixth season in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) in 2013. The Dream qualified for the playoffs in each of the past four seasons, including back-to-back conference titles in 2010 and 2011.
