Milwaukee Wave Signs Local Star from Hartford, WI

The Milwaukee Wave announced today the signing of Hartford, Wisconsin's very own James Weber.

While playing for Swedish Federation Division 3's Gullringen Goif in the spring and summer months, James lead the league in scoring the second half of the 2012 season scoring 9 goals in 10 games. During his last 2 seasons in Sweden, James' teams have only lost 1 game as he averaged more than 1 goal per game.

"James has been training with us since the beginning of the year on our reserve team so even though James hasn't played in any official MISL games we feel he has the qualities to be successful." Head Coach Keith Tozer said. "He has been a goal scorer his entire life and possesses great speed and can shoot with either feet."

James is ranked #11 in goals scored in NSCAA High School soccer history and is ranked #1 in Wisconsin history scoring 173 career goals averaging 44 goals per season at Harford Union High School. ESPN selected James HM All-American in 2009 and 2010 and he received ESPN National Player of the Week honors October 10, 2010. He played for UW-Green Bay after spending a semester at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended Hartford Union High School. There, he was a 3-Time Wisconsin All-State Soccer Player, Wisconsin State Scoring Record holder with a total of 173 goals in his high school Career, Super-Y League All-American, ESPN All-American, #32 Top Soccer National Recruit, and #2 Top Soccer Midwest Recruit.

The Wave's next game is against the Rochester Lancers Sunday, February 10th at 3 pm at U.S. Cellular Arena.
