Ludwig Returned To Allen

Houston, TX - Houston Aeros General Manager Jim Mill announced on Friday the American Hockey League club (AHL) has released defenseman Trevor Ludwig from a professional tryout agreement (PTO).

Ludwig went scoreless in three games with Houston, signing a PTO on Jan. 13. He will return to the Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League, Houston's CHL affiliate. In 33 games for Allen this season, the 27-year old has six goals and 12 assists for 18 points. Over his five-year career, Ludwig has suited up in 145 AHL games for Houston, Texas, Manitoba, Syracuse, Iowa and Norfolk. Over his AHL career, Ludwig has scored four goals and added 14 assists for 18 points, to go along with 156 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the sixth round (#183 overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

His twin brother, Tyler Ludwig also plays in Allen and suited up for the Aeros in one game on Jan. 6 at Texas. Their father, Craig Ludwig played 17 seasons in the NHL for Montreal, Dallas, NY Islanders and Minnesota.

Houston continues a five-game road trip on Friday at 6 p.m. in Grand Rapids against the Griffins. The team returns to Toyota Center after the All-Star break, hosting Texas on Friday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m.
