Titans GameDay vs. Las Vegas, January 25 - Game 41 (Home 22)

January 25, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL) Trenton Titans

Last Meeting

2003-04 Season - In the inaugural ECHL season for LV, Trenton beat the Wranglers on home ice, 2-1. Later that season the Wranglers got even, winning 3-2 in a Shootout at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. These are the only two games played between the two in their histories.

Hello And Goodbye

This is the only regular season meeting between the two teams. LV does travel to Reading for a pair to complete their Easter trip.

Streaks (Last 10)

Las Vegas: 1-0 (5-5); Trenton: 0-1-0-1 (2-6-1-1)

Record (Road/Home)

Las Vegas: 9-6-1-2 Road (6-3-1 over last 10 on road, including 2 SO and 1 OT wins); Trenton: 10-9-1-1 Home (6-6-1-1 last 14 at Home, including 2 OT and 1 SO wins).

Both Ends Of The Spectrum

Las Vegas finds itself last in the ECHL in both scoring (105 goals) and Overall PP (13.2, 25G-190 Opps). However the Wranglers are the best in the league in Goals Allowed (111) and Overall PK (85.4 - tied with Trenton - 23G-158 PK Opps)

DID YOU KNOW?

Trenton has two more games (Wheeling-Jan 26; at Elmira Jan 27), before leaving for its Florida swing. The Titans have two in Estero against the defending ECHL champion Everblades (Jan 30, Feb 1), then a single in Orlando February 2. Trenton went 0-1-1 last year in the Sunshine State (both against FLA). This will be the first appearance for Trenton in the state-of-the-art Amway Center (home to the NBA's Orlando Magic), in Orlando.

Shuffle Up And Deal

If anyone thinks the Titans are content with their status, they haven't been checking the Transaction Wire, because it has burned up over the last couple days.

First, returning from the AHL are Eric Baier (PROV) and Brian Haczyk (ALB). Baier brings defensive stability and Haczyk scored in his last return to Trenton.

Next comes rookie goalie Cal Heeter, send down from AHL affiliate Adirondack. An Ohio State grad, he had a very solid 7-11-1 record with a 2.97 GA and .906 Sv% in 20 games. Heeter defeated Reading in a preseason game on October 6 (6-2).

Jesse Todd comes over from SF. The forward saw time in Hamilton (AHL) last year and REA/SF this season.

Defenseman Chad Langlais comes to Trenton from Arizona (CHL), where he also played for Dayton and Evansville last year. Finally, sparkplug forward Justin Taylor was sent to Idaho to complete the Jacob Cepis trade.

So cut the cards - there's a new deck and it's time to play!
