Ice Players on NHL Watch List

INDIANAPOLIS-The Indiana Ice announced today that defenseman Rinat Valiev and forward Jason Salvaggio have been listed in the 2013 NHL Central Scouting Midterm Rankings for the 2013 NHL Entry Draft in late June. Several other players with Ice ties were also named in the league's annual scouting report.

Valiev, a native of Nizhnekamsk, Russia, is ranked 142nd among skaters playing for a North American team. Through 31 games with Indy, Valiev has amassed 11 points and leads all team blueliners with five goals. The 1995 birth-year defenseman is in his first season in the USHL after playing in the Kazan Ak Bars (Russia) junior program. Valiev will be playing for Team West in next Tuesday's USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game from Muskegon, MI.

Salvaggio joined the Ice over the holiday break and will return to Indy at the conclusion of his prep season with the Selects Academy at South Kent School in western Connecticut. In five games with Indy, the Hanson, MA native recorded five points (2G, 3A), including two multiple-point efforts in his first two games.

Several other players listed on the report have Ice ties including top-20 prospect and forward Adam Erne (Quebec-QMJHL), Adam Johnson (Hibbing-MN) and defenseman Anthony Florentino (South Kent-CT).

The Indiana Ice begin a five-game road stretch on Thursday with a trio of games in central and western Michigan. Indy faces off with Team USA at 7:00 pm from the Ann Arbor Ice Cube on Thursday and Friday before wrapping up the weekend on Saturday against the Muskegon Lumberjacks from L.C. Walker Arena at 7:15 pm.

Hockey returns to Indy on Friday, February 1 for a two game stretch against the league-leading Dubuque Fighting Saints. Friday's game from Pan Am Plaza begins at 7:05 pm. Saturday's "Hockey for Heart" night, presented by St. Vincent Heart Center starts at 7:05 pm from Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Single-game tickets start at $11 for Bankers Life Fieldhouse games and general admission tickets for Pan Am Plaza games are $10. There is a $2 discount for children 10 and under and seniors 62 and over.
