The Binghamton Senators finished off their three game road stretch at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza where they defeated the Penguins 3-1, despite being outshot 32 to 16.

Stephane Da Costa and Eric Gryba both tallied goals, while Mike Hoffman scored an empty net goal.

Paul Thompson scored the lone goal for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Robin Lehner started in goal for Binghamton and turned aside 31 of 32 shots to earn the win. Jeff Zatkoff tended goal for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, stopping 13 of 15.

Friday, Jan. 11: Adirondack 3, Binghamton 2

Shots: Adirondack 33, Binghamton 46

PP: Adirondack 0 for 3, Binghamton 1 for 4

The B-Sens lost 3-2 to the Adirondack Phantoms in an overtime shootout game on home ice.

Patrick Wiercioch and Mark Borowiecki each scored a goal for the Senators.

Matthew Ford and Brandon Manning scored for the Phantoms, with Danny Syvret scoring the game winning goal in the fifth round of the shootout.

Ben Bishop started in goal for Binghamton, stopping 30 of 32 shots and four of five shots in the shootout. Cal Heeter started in goal for Adirondack turning aside 44 of 46 and all five shots in the shootout.

Saturday, Jan. 12: Norfolk 2, Binghamton 4

Shots: Norfolk 40, Binghamton 40

PP: Norfolk 1 for 7, Binghamton 1 for 5

The B-Sens defeated the visiting Norfolk Admirals 4-2 at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena on Saturday night.

Eric Gryba tallied two goals for the B-Sens including the game winner, while Mark Stone and Corey Cowick each had one goal.

Josh Brittain and Ryan Lasch each scored for the Admirals.

B-Sens Nathan Lawson tended goal for the second time this season stopping 38 of 40 shots. Frederik Andersen started in goal for Norfolk stopping 36 of 39 shots.

Record: 23-8-1-3

Standings: The B-Sens are second place overall in the East Division (50 points).

THIS WEEK...

Wednesday, Jan. 16 vs. Rochester Americans (Buffalo Sabres) - 7:05 p.m.

The B-Sens will host the Rochester Americans tonight for the sixth meeting between the two teams this season, with the B-Sens winning four of the previous five games in regulation.

Binghamton leads the season series boasting a 4-0-0-1 record against the Amerks. The team's last met Dec. 29 in Rochester, a 2-1 B-Sens victory.

Rochester currently holds a record of 19-14-2-1 and 41 points, ranking them third overall in the North Division.

Rochester's T.J. Brennan currently ranks ninth in American Hockey League scoring with 34 points.

Promotions: Tonight is the B-Sens Throwdown, a wrestling themed event! The highlight will be a pre-game, eight-person sumo suit wrestling tournament on the concourse beginning at 6:15 p.m. The last man (or woman) standing will win a B-Sens prize pack, the B-Sens Throwdown championship belt and will be recognized on ice during the first intermission.

The B-Sens will be giving away two pairs of tickets to WWE presents RAW Road to Wrestlemania!, coming to the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena on Sunday, March 17.

Friday, Jan. 18 vs. Toronto Marlies (Toronto Maple Leafs) - 7:05 p.m.

The B-Sens will face the Toronto Marlies at home on Friday night for the second time this season. The meeting in the second of four total between the two teams. The B-Sens travel to Toronto for back-to-back games on March 2 and 3.

Binghamton previously beat the Marlies 3-2 in Binghamton back on Nov. 22.

Toronto enters the week sitting in first place in the North Divison with a record of 22-11-1-2 and 47 points.

Paul Ranger currently ranks third in the AHL in plus-minus (+17) and remains the Marlies' point leader (20) among active players.

Promotions: Friday, is Animal Adventure Night! Our friends from Animal Adventure Park will be on hand with various animals in tow including an alligator, hedgehog and tarantula as well as snakes and lizards. Fans can meet and greet the residents of Animal Adventure Park at the Hall of Fame corner of the arena concourse.

The evening also features safari themed kid's activities on the concourse including coloring and games and Boomer, the baby kangaroo, will be on hand to drop the ceremonial first puck.

Saturday, Jan. 19 @ Bridgeport Sound Tigers (New York Islanders) - 7 p.m.

The B-Sens will conclude their two game series against the Sound Tigers with a trip to Webster Bank Arena on Saturday. Binghamton won their first match against Bridgeport 6-1 in Binghamton on Nov. 24.

The Sound Tigers currently rank second in the Northeast Division with a record of 18-16-2-2 and 40 points.

Bridgeport's Nino Niederreiter is currently ranked third in the AHL for goals scored (19) and leads the team in points (36).

Monday, Jan. 21 vs. St. John's IceCaps (Winnipeg Jets) - 7:05 p.m.

The B-Sens will host the St. John's IceCaps on Monday for the second and final time of the season at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. Although it is the IceCaps last trip to Binghamton, the B-Sens will return the favor by visiting St. John's on Feb. 1 and 2.

The B-Sens and IceCaps last met on Dec. 31, a 4-2 Binghamton victory.

The IceCaps currently sit in fifth place in the Atlantic Division with a record of 16-20-1-1 and 34 points.

The team is led by Jason Jaffray in points (20) and assists (14).

SENS SNIPPETS...

Defenseman Eric Gryba capped off a big week for the B-Sens. The defenseman scored three goals in three games last week. Two goals came on the power play and two proved to be game winners. Gryba's game winning tally in Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday earned him first star honors. Gryba has scored five goals and four assists for a total of nine points in 26 games played so far this season. The blueliner also leads the team in plus-minus with plus-15.

Rookie defenseman Daniel New earned his first American Hockey league point as he drew a secondary assist on Eric Gryba's go-ahead goal against Norfolk last Saturday.

B-SENS BRINGING IT HOME TO THE COMMUNITY...

The Binghamton Senators have partnered with Dickin Memorial Animal Hospital in Johnson City for their second annual season-long effort to assist the Southern Tier pet population, dubbed "Pucks 4 Paws" (formerly known as Paws for Cause).

The initiative has officially kicked off with the debut of the 2013 Binghamton Senators Pucks 4 Paws calendar. The 16-month calendar features photos of B-Sens players, coaches and staff members with their family pets or pets from the area shelters. The limited edition calendars are $20 and available for purchase at the Pucks 4 Paws table on Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena concourse for all upcoming B-Sens home games, while supplies last.

There are also exclusive Pucks 4 Paws baseball style t-shirts available for $15.

New this year Dickin Memorial Animal Hospital will be raffling off a special Binghamton Senators pendant, designed exclusively for Pucks 4 Paws by CD Daniel & Co. Fine Jewelry. The pendant, valued at $1,500, is reversible. One side features a diamond paw print, while the other features the B-Sens logo accented by rubies and black diamonds. The pendant will be on display at the Pucks 4 Paws table on the arena concourse for all upcoming B-Sens home games until the drawing which is set to take place on Feb. 15. Fans need not be present to win. Raffle tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the Pucks 4 Paws table, the B-Sens executive offices during regular business hours and Dickin Memorial Animal Hospital (716 Harry L Drive, Johnson City).

All proceeds from the calendar, t-shirt and raffle sales will benefit the Animal Care Council, Broome County Humane Society, Front Street Dog Shelter, SPCA in Waverly and Project P.A.W.
