Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

THIS PAST WEEK:

About Sunday Night in Fort Wayne: The Komets avoided another late-game collapse as Mike Hoban blasted home the game winning goal in overtime to defeat the Cyclones by a 3-2 final score in front of 6,309 at Memorial Coliseum.

About Saturday Night in Fort Wayne: The Cyclones exploded for four unanswered goals in the third period as they rallied to defeat the Komets by a 5-2 final score in front of 7,606 at Memorial Coliseum. John McFarland potted a pair of goals in the third period to help spark the Cincinnati comeback.

About Friday Night vs. Fort Wayne: Despite a career-night for goaltender Zoltan Hetenyi, the Cyclones dropped a 2-1 shootout decision to the Komets in front of 5,437 at U.S. Bank Arena. Hetenyi made 40 saves in the defeat while Garrett Wilson netted the lone goal for Cincinnati.

About Wednesday Night vs. Orlando: The Cyclones controlled the action from the outset and picked up a 4-0 win over the Solar Bears in front of 3,086 at U.S. Bank Arena. Mathieu Aubin had a pair of goals while Zoltan Hetenyi earned his second-career shutout.

SHOTS FROM THE POINT:

On The Road Again: After playing nine of their last ten games against North Division opponents, the Cyclones will play four straight contests against the Atlantic beginning tomorrow night at U.S. Bank Arena when they welcome the Elmira Jackals to town. Then, Cincinnati embarks on a three-game road trip where they'll face the red-hot Reading Royals and Trenton Titans in a trio of games over the weekend.

Holding Up The "House": Cyclones goalie Michael Houser enjoyed his best performance of his young career over the weekend. On Saturday, he made a Cyclones season-high 45 saves to help his team rally for a 5-2 win over Fort Wayne. It's the second time this season a Cincinnati goalie had made 40+ saves.

Heroes Are Everywhere: Cincinnati has continued to spread the wealth this year - with 14 different players earning game-winning goals. Josh Shalla leads the team in this category (although he's currently called up to the AHL). Mathieu Aubin, Mike Embach, Mike Pelech, and Garrett Wilson all have two such lamp-lighters.

Coors Light Jarrod Skalde Show TONIGHT: Join us TONIGHT from 7-8pm at the Tap House Grill for another week of hockey conversation with Cyclones Head Coach Jarrod Skalde and Voice of the Cyclones Nick Brunker. Enjoy great food and Coors Light beer specials as we chat about what's coming up in Puckopolis!
