SpongeBob SquarePants Returning to Air Capital on February 9th

Wichita, KS (January 9th) - Returning from his pineapple under the sea, SpongeBob SquarePants has agreed to make another appearance at an upcoming Thunder game, the team announced on Wednesday afternoon. Joining him will be none other than Dora the Explorer, who will appear later in the season.

The Nickelodeon star will appear at the Thunder's home game on Saturday, February 9th as the Thunder face the Allen Americans and has been made possible by EagleMed, LLC. Last season, SpongeBob appeared at the Thunder's game on November 19th against the Tulsa Oilers. More than 7,000 people were attendance as SpongeBob SquarePants entertained the crowd. Fans will have a chance to meet the popular character from Bikini Bottom and also take pictures on the concourse.

February 9th is also the 2nd edition of the Cops vs. Firefighters game. Doors will open at 5:15 p.m. with the game beginning at 5:30 p.m. EagleMed will have their helicopter out on the concourse by Entrance B along with an EagleMed Ambulance for the kids to touch and get pictures with. Near Entrance A, there will be a fire truck and police vehicle on display.

Dora the Explorer will be in attendance at the Thunder's game against Allen on March 22nd and more details will be announced at a later date. March 22nd is also Youth Jersey Night, courtesy of Taco Bell & Pizza Hut. The first 1,000 kids 12 and under will receive a special Thunder youth jersey.

Wichita will stay in Rapid City for a pair of games beginning on Friday, January 11th. The Thunder returns home on Friday, January 18th against the Tulsa Oilers before heading back out on the road for two games in Tulsa.
