Blengino joined the Mariners front office as a Special Assistant to General Manager Jack Zduriencik on November 10, 2008. He oversees the Mariners statistical analysis for player evaluation on amateur, Minor League and Major League players, as well as overseeing the club's Major League advance scouting staff.
Blengino spent six seasons (2003-08) with the Milwaukee Brewers organization, including the last three years as the Assistant Scouting Director under Zduriencik. In that position, he assisted the scouting director in all aspects of amateur scouting and was responsible for scouting in Canada and the independent leagues.
The Hot Stove Banquet will also include a silent auction and a raffle featuring signed items from members of the 2012 LumberKings, two-time Cy Young Award Winner Denny McLain and more. All proceeds of the auction and raffle will go towards the non-profit Friends of Riverview Stadium organization.
Doors open with a 6 PM social hour and dinner and program slated to start at 7 PM. Advance tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children (age 12 and under), meal and program included. Tickets will also be available at the door at $30 for adults, $20 for children. The Clinton LumberKings, Midwest League Affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, open the 2013 season at Burlington on Thursday, April 4 as they take on the Bees. The home opener at Ashford University Field is Thursday, April 11th at 6:30 as the LumberKings host the Cedar Rapids Kernels.
