San Antonio Rampage News Release

THIS WEEK'S GAMES

Friday, Jan. 4 vs. Peoria Rivermen AT&T Center, 7:30 p.m.

The Rampage and Rivermen will kick off the New Year on Friday with the first of four meetings this season. San Antonio was 4-2-0-0 against Peoria last season and goaltender Dov Grumet-Morris posted a perfect 3 -0-0-0 record against the Rivermen, allowing only three goals in three starts. Offensively, James Wright (two goals, two assists) and Greg Rallo (four assists) paced the Rampage with four points each.

Saturday, Jan. 5 at Houston Aeros Toyota Center, 7:05 p.m.

San Antonio will make their second of six trips to the Toyota Center on Saturday night. The Rampage earned a 2-1 overtime last Saturday, with Greg Rallo tallying the game winner 50 seconds into overtime and Dov Grumet-Morris making 29 saves in the win. The victory snapped a three- game winless steak for the Rampage against the Aeors. Houston cur- rently leads the season series 2-2-0-0.

Sunday, Jan. 6 vs Peoria Rivermen AT&T Center, 3:30 p.m.

Like San Antonio, Peoria has been a streaky team this season. The Rivermen rattled off six straight wins midway through the month of De- cember, but have dropped three of their last four games, scoring a com- bined five goals in that span. Peoria is currently in 13th place in the Western Conference, while San Antonio sits in 14th.

In addition, fans can enjoy inflatables and interactive activities prior to the game and a free skate starting two hours prior to the game. HOT HAND: Rookie forward Drew Shore has tallied two goals and four assists in his last four games and now leads the team in points (25) and assists (18).

SHOOTING GALLERY: The Rampage have outshot their opponents in three of their last five games, but surrendered a season-high 51 shots in Sunday's 5-2 victory over Charlotte.

The 26 shots allowed by the Rampage in the third period was a franchise high, yet the Silver and Black were able to hold on and earn the win.

MEMORABLE NIGHT: Rookie defenseman John Lee recorded his first professional goal and added his first professional assist on Sunday. Lee also fought in the contest, recording the team's first Gordie Howe Hat Trick of the season.

ICE CHIPS: Jacob Markstrom-Goaltender Rampage netminder Jacob Markstrom made a career-high 49 saves en route to backstopping the Rampage to a 5-2 win against the division- leading Charlotte Checkers on Sunday. The 26 shots recorded by the Checkers in the third period was the most surrendered in Rampage fran- chise history in a single period, but Markstrom was up to the challenge and made 24 stops to earn his first win in more than three weeks and his ninth win of the year. In his start on Saturday, the Swedish netminder stopped 42 shots - which was a season-high prior to Sunday's tilt - but the Rampage ultimately fell in a shootout to Oklahoma City, 3-2. In his two starts last week, Markstrom made a combined 91 saves and only surrendered four goals.
