The Swedish Duo Shine in a Shutout Road VictoryVilliam Haag and Kevin Lindskoug combine to shut down the USNTDP

ANN ARBOR, Michigan (December 21st) - The night belonged to the Swedish pair of Forward Villiam Haag and Goaltender Kevin Lindskoug as the two combined to wipe out the USNTDP Under-17 Team by a score of 4-0 at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube.

In the first period, the Lumberjacks (17-8-2, 36 points) would erase a scoreless drought late into the period and score a pair of goals that started off at the 16:34 mark with Forward Joe Cox's eighth goal of the season on a beautiful backhanded pass from teammate Villiam Haag to make it 1-0 Muskegon. Shortly after at the 18:14 mark, Haag would get his second goal as a Lumberjack on the power play as he tallied the goal off a rebound to make it 2-0 Muskegon after one period of play (assisted by Cox and Defenseman Patrick Koudys).

The Lumberjacks would take the late first period momentum into the second as Forward Campbell Elynuik ripped a long shot just outside the right faceoff circle past USNTDP Goaltender Edwin Minney (0-9-1) for his fifth goal of the season from line mate Cameron Darcy to make it 3-0 Muskegon just 45 seconds into the period. The Lumberjacks would take that score into the second intermission and were outshooting USTNDP, 21-12.

The third period was all about Kevin Lindskoug (13-6-2) as the USNTDP Under-17 Team (5-17-3, 13 points) would outshoot Muskegon, 16-4, in the final frame, but come up with no goals to show up for it. The Lumberjacks would cap off the victory with an add-on goal at the 17:09 mark with Forward Adam Gilmour's ninth goal of the season on a two-on-one breakaway assisted by Forward Max Shuart and Haag.

Kevin Lindskoug earned his USHL-leading fourth shutout of the season stopping all 28 shots he faced. Villiam Haag led the charge with three points (one goal and two assists) in the victory, while Joe Cox chipped in with two points (one goal and one assist). The USNTDP Under-17 Team outshot Muskegon, 28-25, in the game, and the Lumberjacks were one-for-six on the man advantage. The Lumberjacks are now 4-0-0 this season against the USNTDP program.
