Elmira Jackals Sign Justin Daniels

ELMIRA, N.Y. - December 11, 2012 - The Elmira Jackals announced today that they have signed rookie forward Justin Daniels.

A native of Suffern, New York, Daniels was taken in the third round (#62 overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the San Jose Sharks.

Daniels comes to the Jackals after spending time earlier this season with the Central Hockey League's Allen Americans and Southern Professional Hockey League's Augusta Riverhawks. The 6-2, 200-pound winger turned pro after three seasons at Northeastern University.

With the Huskies Daniels recorded 38 points (15G, 23A) and 28 penalty minutes in 93 games. He finished his collegiate career with a single-season best of 17 points (7G, 10A) in 33 games last year that ranked him sixth on the team. Before joining the collegiate ranks Daniels skated the 2008-09 season, and was an all-star, with the United States Hockey League's Sioux City Musketeers.

Daniels has begun practicing with the Jackals and is expected to be in the lineup when Elmira returns to game action this Friday at home against the Orlando Solar Bears.
