Spirit Fall to Greyhounds at Home

The Saginaw Spirit took on their conference rivals, the Soo Greyhounds on Saturday night at home, losing 6 - 4.
Both Western Conference teams came out strong in the first, however the Greyhounds scored first with a goal by Toronto Maple Leafs prospect, David Broll, with assists coming from Detroit Red Wings prospect, Ryan Sproul and Los Angeles Kings prospect, Michael Schumacher. The Spirit fired back with the Teddy Bear Toss goal from Florida Panthers prospect, Vince Trocheck, assisted by Gregg Sutch and Andrey Alexeev. From there, the Greyhounds scored a power play goal by Dylan Staples, with assists coming from Philadelphia Flyers prospect, Nick Cousins and Ryan Sproul. The first period ended Soo 2 - Saginaw 1.
The second period opened up with two Soo goals, one by Nick Halagian, with assists coming from Brandon Alderson and Darnell Nurse, followed by another goal from Los Angeles Kings prospect, Colin Miller, assisted by Michael Schumacher and Nick Cousins. The Spirit found the back of the net next off Eric Locke's stick, with assists coming from Buffalo Sabres prospect, Justin Kea and Nick Moutrey. The Soo ended the period with another goal from Nick Cousins, assisted by Darnell Nurse and Ryan Sproul. The second period ended Soo 5 - Saginaw 2.
The Spirit and the Greyhounds gave a solid effort in the third period. The Spirit fired two goals to get back in the game, one by Eric Locke, with assists coming from Dalton Young and goaltender, Nikita Serebryakov, followed by another from Chicago Blackhawks prospect, Garret Ross, assisted by Terry Trafford. The Greyhounds scored an empty net goal with 30 seconds left from David Broll, assisted by Colin Miller. The game ended Soo 6 - Saginaw 4, with shots on goal Saginaw 40 - Soo 29.
