Mill Rats Drop Road Game in Halifax

(Halifax, NS): The Saint John Mill Rats, presented by Rogers, dropped their road game against the Halifax Rainmen on Saturday night with a final score of 103-96.
The Halifax Rainmen bolted out of the gate and got an early lead in the first half, ending with a 10 point lead, 46-36.
Coming off their buzzer beating win from last night's game at the Metro Centre against the Oshawa Power, the Rainmen opened up the third with a shot from Joey Haywood. They ended the third still leading 75-57 with the biggest lead in the game.
The Mill Rats battled hard in the fourth to close the gap, outscoring the Rainmen by 11 points, 28-39. Half way into the last quarter, a steal from Antonio Burks to Anthony Anderson helped give the Mill Rats momentum to close the gap.
However, with less than 30 seconds on the clock, 2 back to back threes from Jerice Crouch were not enough to pull ahead of the Rainmen lead. The Rainmen closed the game 103-96.
Jerice Crouch led the game scoring 27 points while Anthony Anderson contributed 25, Sheray Thomas 11 and Burks had 10. Anderson also had 10 boards, while Thomas had 13. Tonight's game was Thomas' debut with the Mill Rats.
Leading scorers for the Rainmen were Joey Haywood with 18, Melvin Goins with 16, Hillary Haley with 15 and former Mill Rat Antoine Tisby with 14.
The Mill Rats fall to 4-7 on the season while the Rainmen move up to 7-5 after 2 back to back wins.
Catch the Mill Rats in action as they host the Halifax Rainmen on Thursday, Dec. 13th at Harbour Station! Game time is 7pm. They also play the Moncton Miracles Sunday afternoon, Dec. 16th at 2pm.
