Week in Review:
Friday, November 30th, 2012 vs. Tri-City Americans - 3-2 Win
Chase Souto's goal with 38 seconds left to play in the game lifted the Blazers to a 3-2 victory over the Tri-City Americans. The Blazers held a 2-1 lead in the third period before a breakaway goal by Parker Bowles with 5:03 to play. Matt Needham set up Souto in the last minute of play as he lifted the Blazers to the victory. Souto also energized the crowd with a second period fight. Cole Cheveldave earned the win with 26 saves. Saturday, December 1st, 2012 vs. Moose Jaw Warriors - 3-2 Shootout Loss
The Warriors scored a shootout victory on Saturday night over the Blazers. Tyler Bell scored the teddy bear goal for the Blazers in the first period. The Blazers trailed 2-1 into the third period, but Colin Smith tied it up with a great shot from the high slot. The final 13 minutes of the third period and overtime solved nothing. The shootout wasn't kind for the Blazers with it ending quickly on goals by Justin Kirsch and Brayden Point. Cole Cheveldave suffered his first shootout loss of the season. Full Recap and Highlights.
Sunday, December 2nd, 2012 at Seattle Thunderbirds - 3-1 Loss
The Blazers scoring woes continued as a late goal with 3:08 to play cost the Blazers in a 3-1 loss to the Seattle Thunderbirds. The Thunderbirds held a 1-0 lead through two periods, but Joe Kornelsen tied it up with a goal in the third period. The game looked to be headed to overtime until Justin Hickman wired a shot just inside the post to give the Thunderbirds a 2-1 lead. A last minute push wasn't enough and the Thunderbirds added an empty net goal for the win. Full Recap and Highlights.
Scott Niedermayer's No. 28 to be Retired
The Kamloops Blazers made a special announcement this past Saturday night. Co-owner Tom Gaglardi announced that the hockey club will retire defenseman Scott Niedermayer's no. 28 on Friday, January 25, 2013.
Niedermayer suited up for the Blazers from 1989-1992 helping the hockey club capture their first Memorial Cup. The decorated defenseman set up Zac Boyer for a breakaway pass in the dying seconds of the Memorial Cup final. Boyer scored on the breakaway with 14.6 seconds left to lift the Blazers to their first Memorial Cup.
Niedermayer will be the first Blazer / Jr. Oiler to have his jersey retired since Mark Recchi in 1990. For more on the evening and Scott Niedermayer, follow this link.
Teddy Bear Count
The Kamloops Blazers would like to thank the 5,053 fans who came out to the annual Teddy Bear Night on Saturday, December 1st against the Moose Jaw Warriors. The generosity of the fans was tremendous as 3,250 bears have been collected. The Blazers want to thank you for your continued loyalty! For more details follow this link.
Lipon to Canada's World Junior Camp
Kamloops Blazers' forward JC Lipon is one of 37 players that have been selected to attend Canada's National Junior Camp which starts on December 10th in Calgary. Lipon is currently tied with teammate Colin Smith for the WHL scoring lead with 55 points in 31 games. Find out more by following this link.
Two Final Home Games Before Christmas
The Blazers have only two home games left before they go on the road for five games prior to the Christmas break. The Swift Current Broncos are in town on Tuesday, December 4th for Harley Davidson Night!
On Friday, December 7th the Blazers will host the Prince George Cougars for Food Bank Night. Make sure to bring a non-perishable food item to the game to donate!

Jordan Thomson excited about opportunity at U-17 World Challenge
16-year-old defenseman Jordan Thomson will suit up for Team West at the upcoming U-17 World Challenge in Quebec from December 29th - January 4th. Thomson will play an important role for Team West. Find out his thoughts by following this link.
Blazers Rank 2nd in the BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 Rankings
The Blazers continue to be ranked 2nd in the latest BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 with a 21-7-1-2 record. The hockey club has been ranked in the Top 10 all season. To view the current rankings, follow this link.
Movember Money Raised
The Kamloops Blazers raised $508 during the month of November for Men's Health. The Blazers want to thank all the fans and sponsors for their donation. In total, the CHL raised more than $170,000!
