Wear Pink for Missing Girls
December 3, 2012 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa-Since July, the entire Cedar Valley has been united by the hope that abducted cousins Elizabeth Collins and Lyric Cook-Morrissey will soon be safely home with their families in Evansdale.
Friday evening, the Waterloo Black Hawks are encouraging fans to wear pink to Young Arena in support of that sentiment. Friends and family of the girls will be at the Hawks' game against the Indiana Ice distributing awareness bracelets and pocket-sized informational cards about the cousins. Collins' youth hockey teammates will skate at intermission.
Collins, nine, and Cook-Morrissey, eleven, disappeared while riding their bicycles on July 13th. The search for them has continued with the efforts of local and state law enforcement, volunteers, and the FBI. A $50,000 reward is currently being offered for their safe return and the arrest and conviction of those responsible for their disappearance. Evansdale police continue to look for tips and would like to speak with anyone who may have seen the girls before they went missing. To provide even the most minor details, call (319) 232-6682 or (800) 222-8477. For more information, visit cousinsunited.com.
The Black Hawks' Friday game versus the Indiana Ice begins at 7:05 PM, with gates opening at 6:05.
