Minnesota Swarm News Release

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - The National Lacrosse League's (NLL) Minnesota Swarm will open its ninth season of play with the team's first training camp session this weekend at the new Toronto Rock Practice Facility in Oakville, Ontario. The Swarm's first main camp session will run Friday evening to Sunday, Dec. 2.

After completing its annual rookie camp and open tryout session on Thursday, Minnesota will now begin the process of determining its final 23-man roster over the next three weekends.

Minnesota is coming off a 9-7 regular season finish in 2012 and its first trip to the West Division Finals. The Swarm added four first-round draft picks this offseason in T Brock Sorensen (No. 2), F Kiel Matisz (No. 3), F Shayne Jackson (No. 4), and D Alex Crepinsek (No. 10).

"Last season our success was dependent on us outworking our opponents," Swarm associate general manager and head coach Joe Sullivan said. "As we head into training camp, we have a great group of walk-ons and draft picks, and the team we got back from last year was a great team, so I hope everyone has come with their work boots and hard hats, because this will truly be the toughest training camp they've ever been a part of."

On Saturday, Minnesota will face the Colorado Mammoth at 5 p.m. CT in an exhibition contest at the Toronto Rock Practice Facility. Next weekend, the Swarm will head to Rochester to face the Knighthawks on Saturday, Dec. 8 in the team's only preseason game at The Blue Cross Arena at 7 p.m. CT.
