November 30, 2012 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today goaltender Michael Houser has been assigned to the club by the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League. To make room on the active roster, the Cyclones have placed Brian Foster on the reserve list and traded Andrew Hotham to the Wheeling Nailers in exchange for future considerations.
Houser, a Youngstown, Ohio native, will be dressing for the first time as a professional tonight after suffering a knee injury during San Antonio's training camp in October. He spent the last three years with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League. Last season, he won the Red Tilson Trophy as the OHL's most outstanding player and became the first American-born goaltender to be named the league's top net minder. The 20-year-old, played in 62 of the 68 games for the Knights last season and tied the OHL record for wins in a season with 46 en route to helping his club win the Hamilton Spectator Trophy as the league's top regular season team. In three years, Houser posted a 93-38-7 record with a 2.90 goals-against average and 0.912 save percentage in 141 games.
Hotham appeared in 13 games with the Cyclones this season, posting two goals and two assists with 23 penalty minutes. It will be his second stint in Wheeling; last year he logged 52 games with the Nailers.
The Cyclones will return to the ice at U.S. Bank Arena TONIGHT when they once again welcome in the Evansville IceMen at 7:30pm. The first 1,500 fans ages 13 and over will receive a FREE T-Shirt of Cyclones goaltender Brian Foster courtesy of Meijer! Call 513.421.PUCK or visit CyclonesHockey.com to reserve your seats!
