St. John's, Newfoundland - The St. John's IceCaps defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 3-1 at Mile One Centre on Tuesday Night. Eddie Pasquale stopped 45 of a Bulldogs season-high 46 shots while Derek Meech scored the winner and added an assist.

The IceCaps opened the scoring on a powerplay marker by Raymond Sawada at 1:17 of the opening frame as Sawada tipped a shot taken by Alex Burmistrov past Hamilton Bulldogs starting goaltender Robert Mayer.

The IceCaps doubled their lead at 7:15 of the second stanza on a powerplay goal by Derek Meech who hammered a shot over the glove of Mayer and into the top corner of the net.

The Bulldogs got on the board at 2:26 of the third period on a powerplay tally by Brendan Gallagher. Gallagher drove the net and put a puck off the post which then bounced past St. John's IceCaps starting goaltender Eddie Pasquale.

St. John's regained their two-goal lead at 12:26 of the third frame on a goal by Jason Gregoire. Dean Arsene let a shot fly from the right point and the puck was tipped by Gregoire behind Mayer. Hamilton finished with a season-high 46 shots while St. John's finished with 19.

The Bulldogs' next game is tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. in St. John's vs. the IceCaps. Their next home game is Sunday, November 25th against the Lake Erie Monsters at Copps Coliseum at 4 p.m. All 'Dogs games during the month of November will be broadcast on Hamilton's Funny 820 (AM 820), with select games simulcast on Montreal's TSN Radio 690 (AM 690).
