Heat Down Monsters 2-0 Record Third

Abbotsford, BC - The Abbotsford Heat shut out the Lake Erie Monsters for the second time in two nights on Wednesday at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre (AESC).

Barry Brust earned his third consecutive shutout and extended his shutout streak to 231:41. The Heat extended their home point streak to ten games and remain atop the Western Conference standings. The Heat have only recorded one regulation loss through 13 games.

After two scoreless periods, the Heat opened the scoring at 5:50 of the third period on Brett Olson's second goal of the season. Ben Street and Carter Bancks earned assists on the goal. Olson now has two goals and three assists in four games versus Lake Erie this season. Chris Breen's first goal of the season at 10:42 of the third moved the Heat ahead 2-0. Breen's goal was assisted by Krys Kolanos and Ben Walter.

The Heat negated all three Monster power plays and were scoreless on their one power play.

Barry Brust made his fourth start of the season, stopping all 29 shots. Brust has allowed just one goal on 105 shots this season. The Heat were outshot 29-20.

The Heat depart on a five game road trip tomorrow, visiting the Rochester Americans at 4:05 PDT on Friday and the Toronto Marlies Sunday at 12:00 PDT. The Heat will play the final three games of the road in Texas against the Texas Stars, the San Antonio Rampage and the Houston Aeros.

The Heat return to the AESC to play the Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens) on Friday, November 30th and Saturday, December 1st. Friday's game is "Legends of Hockey Night", where the Heat will honour former Canadien Yvan Cournoyer.
