Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Dubuque Fighting Saints will ring in the start to the holiday season by honoring the men and women who have and continue to serve our country on a special evening on Wednesday, November 21. The Fighting Saints will host their third annual Military Appreciation Night, presented by Kwik Stop and Dairy Queen, along with media partner Radio Dubuque. The evening will include discounted tickets for those with a military ID, a special pre--‐ game ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Plaza across from the arena, and the Fighting Saints will be wearing special military--‐themed jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game. Puck drop versus the Muskegon Lumberjacks is slated for 7:35 p.m. Thanksgiving Eve, the third consecutive year that the Fighting Saints have played at home the night before Thanksgiving.

The Fighting Saints will wear special military--‐themed jerseys that feature camouflage accents during the game that evening. The jerseys feature the Fighting Saints alternate club logo on the front of the uniform, the first time the team has worn the crest on the front of their sweaters. The jerseys will be auctioned in a live post--‐game jersey auction with all proceeds benefiting the Veterans Freedom Center located at 2245 Kerper Blvd. in Dubuque.

Either veterans or those active in the military may receive $3 off up to six tickets for the game with a valid military ID. Tickets must be purchased in person at the box office at the Mystique Community Ice Center to receive the discount.

The Fighting Saints will also be hosting a remembrance prior to the game at the Veterans Memorial Plaza located across the street from the Mystique Community Ice Center at 1801 Admiral Sheehy Drive. Fans are encouraged to join Fighting Saints players and coaches for the ceremony at 5:45 p.m., which will include a moment of silence as we honor those who have sacrificed their lives for our country.

Military Appreciation Night will also include festivities featuring military--‐themed entertainment and intermission contests, and a chance for fans to salute those in attendance that defend the United States.

With the game being the night before Thanksgiving, it is a great event for families and relatives in town for the holiday to attend together. Group rates for Military Appreciation Night are available with discounted ticket prices for groups starting at just eight people. Individual tickets for this special event are also on sale by calling 563.583.6680 or online at DubuqueFightingSaints.com
