Stamps Trio Named CFL Players of the WeekNovember 13, 2012 - Canadian Football League (CFL) - Calgary Stampeders Press Release
Tate is being recognized as the week's top offensive player, Cornish is top Canadian and Raymond is top defensive player.
Tate collected his first career playoff victory by throwing for 363 yards and two touchdowns, including a 68-yard game-winning score to Romby Bryant in the final minute of play. The 28-year-old quarterback completed 22 of 36 throws and did not have an interception.
Cornish led the Stampeders' ground attack against the Roughriders as he carried the ball 18 times for 109 yards, an average of 6.1 yards per carry. It's his second career 100-yard rushing game in the playoffs in as many starts.
It's the eighth time this season Cornish has been named the CFL's Canadian player of the week. The running back has also been named offensive player of the week once and Canadian of the month on three occasions.
Raymond picks up defensive honours after recording four tackles, a sack and a game-sealing interception in the West semifinal. He also made a significant contribution on special teams as his block on a Saskatchewan point-after attempt resulted in Fred Bennett's 96-yard run for two Calgary points.
It's the second time Raymond has been honoured by the CFL in 2012 as he was previously named top defensive player for Week 17.
