One-Goal Game Favors Aces over Wranglers

Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas - Held scoreless for the second game in a row, the Las Vegas Wranglers fell 1-0 to the Alaska Aces tonight.
Wranglers goaltender Joe Fallon and Aces goaltender Mark Guggenberger began their shot-blocking battle midway through the first, with Las Vegas getting a chance to score on a 5-3 man advantage. Unable to convert, the 0-0 score held until the last five minutes of the second period, when Aces right wing Joey Crabb tallied a shorthanded goal to give Alaska the 1-0 lead. Minutes later, the Wranglers had two back-to-back scoring opportunities - a shot bouncing off the crossbar and a no-goal called on a dead play - but the Aces kept the advantage.
Opening the third on a power play, the Aces were held to their one goal by the Wranglers. With neither team able to record a follow-up goal, the 1-0 game went to Alaska, giving them the win in the first of a three-game series.
The same two teams take the ice on Friday, Nov. 9, and Saturday, Nov. 10. Captain America will make a special live appearance on the Orleans Arena concourse during Saturday's game as well. Tonight's full box score can be found here .
