Gwinnett's Jones Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Rookie of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Gwinnett Gladiators forward Doug Jones is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Rookie of the Month for October.

The 25-year-old scored five goals, added five assists and was a +4 in eight games during the month. Jones scored at least one point in six of his eight games during October, including two point games on Oct. 13 at South Carolina, Oct. 19 against Ontario, Oct. 21 at Greenville and Oct. 26 at Fort Wayne.

A native of Marietta, Ga., Jones led all ECHL rookies in October in goals and points, and he was tied for second with 21 shots on goal and tied for fourth with five assists.

He made his pro debut last season with the Gladiators, tallying four points (1g-3a) in five games. Prior to turning pro, he played four seasons at Dartmouth College, scoring 107 points (29g-78a) in 127 games.

Runners Up: Scott Greenham, Bakersfield (2-1-1, 2.60 GAA, .926 save pct.) and Jeremie Blain, Idaho (8 gp, 3g, 6a, 9 pts.).
