Gamblers Collect Caps for Cancer

October 22, 2012 - United States Hockey League (USHL) Green Bay Gamblers

(Green Bay, WI) The Green Bay Gamblers 8thannual Caps for Cancer Toss presented by North Shore Bank on October 20 netted 1,503 hats. The hats were tossed on the ice when Kyle Novak scored in the third period. The hats were given to Heavenly Hats, a Green Bay area organization that gives hats to cancer patients around the country.

In addition to the hats, $6,239 will be donated to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic and Heavenly Hats. The Gamblers are donating $4,500 to the Lombardi Cancer Clinic from a portion of ticket proceeds and pink jersey auction. Heavenly Hats will receive $1,739 donated from Bay Harbor, Forest Glen, Meadowbrook and Suamico elementary schools in the Howard-Suamico School District.

Since its inception, the Caps for Cancer Toss has generated 18,922 hats for Heavenly Hats.
