Indiana Ice News Release

Indy faced a 43-25 shot deficit in the contest, giving up 16 bullets in the third period alone. Zach Aman and Bo Pieper recorded goals for the Ice while Mattias Soderqvist logged 39 saves on 43 shot attempts.

Indiana had several prime scoring opportunities, but couldn't capitalize on the eight shots on net in the first period. Sioux Falls was able to take a 1-0 lead off a stolen puck in the neutral zone by Kyle Schempp.

The Ice faced a 15-12 shot deficit in the second period with the Stampede capitalizing on two of three power play opportunites to take a 4-1 lead going into the second intermission. Sioux Fall's C.J. Franklin and Sam Rothstein gave their team a 3-0 edge until Indy got on the board with just over six minutes left in the period.

Zach Aman lit the lamp for the Ice's lone marker in the second period off a scrum in the crease. Aman took a rebounded shot from Brian Morgan and Josh Jacobs and slipped it past Stampede goaltender Charlie Lindgren to pull Indy within two goals at 3-1.

Bo Pieper provided some firepower in the third period after lighting the lamp 10 seconds into the frame, but the Ice couldn't overcome the Stampede's defensive pressure in the final 20 minutes.

Indy continues their roadtrip Saturday with an 8:00 pm faceoff with the Sioux City Musketeers. Hockey returns to Pan Am Plaza on Saturday, October 20 when the Ice host the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders at 7:05 pm.
