Rockland Boulders top League with 161,375 in Season Attendance

September 5, 2012 - Canadian American League (Can-Am) Rockland Boulders

(Ramapo, NY) - The 2012 Rockland Boulders topped their victory total of their 2011 inaugural season, but it was their fans who put them in first place in a key category. Rockland ended the season with a total attendance of 161,375, shattering their mark of 123,704 a year ago and topping Quebec in Can-Am League attendance by over 8,000 fans. The total places Rockland fifth on the league's all-time single-season attendance list, is the highest in the Can-Am since the 2009 season, and the second highest since 2007. The all-time record was set by Brockton with 190,675 in 2005.

Earlier this season the franchise passed the 250,000 mark in all-time attendance, and the two-year total now stands at 285,079. The Boulders topped 4,000 in game attendance on 14 occasions this year compared to five in the 2011 season, and the total figure represented an increase of over 30%. There is also reason for optimism for the future, as Rockland's average of 3,859 fans over the season's final 11 games was a significant improvement over the average of 3,130 to that point.

With another year under its belt, Rockland Boulders management remains committed to even bigger and better things in the future. "The Boulders can't wait to get on the field for the 2013 season," stated Team President Ken Lehner in an open letter to Boulders Fans.
