Pheasants Attendance Increases 72% in 2012

Sioux Falls, SD-The Sioux Falls Pheasants are proud to announce that their season attendance rose 72% from last season this year. Officially, 130,541 fans came through the gates this season for an average of 2,664 per-game.

"The entire ownership group is thrilled with the increase in attendance this season," stated Pheasants CEO/President Tom Garrity. "We can't thank our fans and sponsors enough for making this a successful season in the stands. It is obvious that the community is responding and showing everyone that professional baseball can work in Sioux Falls. We are dedicated to continue making Pheasants games an affordable option for families and are already in the process in planning for next season," added Garrity.

Some of the new successful ticket promotions from this season included Sanford Health/Sanford Children's "Kids Free in June and August." The program allowed two kids (12 and under) to get into the game free for every adult $12 ticket purchased. The club also created a Family Pack for Sunday games thanks to Coca-Cola. The package was just $25 and included 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 Coca-Cola beverages and a large popcorn.

The Pheasants had their first sellout in nearly four years on July 16th when 4, 862 fans watched the Pheasants battle Fargo-Moorhead. The club finished with a strong month of August with an average crowd of 3,124. In the final weekend home series of the year the Pheasants drew crowds of 4, 197, 3, 502 and 4, 050 respectively.

Sioux Falls closes out the regular season this week with a seven-game road trip in Texas which begins with tonight with a three-game series at Grand Prairie. Game tonight is 7:05 PM and fans can catch the game on Sports Radio 1230-AM, KWSN starting at 6:45 PM. The Pheasants will then close out the season with a four-game series in El Paso starting on Friday night.
