Ice Schedule Announced

August 23, 2012 - United States Hockey League (USHL) Indiana Ice

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Ice will begin their quest for the Clark Cup when they open up the

2012-13 USHL regular season the last weekend of September. The first home game will be Saturday (9/29) against the Omaha Lancers at 7:05pm from Pan Am Plaza, which follows the opener set for Friday night (9/28) against the Chicago Steel in Bensenville, IL.

Indy opens the Bankers Life Fieldhouse portion of their schedule on Friday (11/9) against the Green Bay Gamblers. The team and fans will be welcomed at the fieldhouse by the arena's brand new scoreboard, a four-panel High Definition system measuring 50 feet long down the length of the ice. The scoreboard will be nearly five times larger than the previous display and will be complimented by a brand new state-of-the-art audio system.

Indy and the rest of the USHL clubs will play an expanded 64-game schedule in the 12-13 campaign consisting of 32 home and away games. A majority of the games will be played at Bankers Life Fieldhouse while several games will be played at Pan Am Plaza. All home games will begin at 7:05 pm with the exception of all six Sunday games (3:05 pm). The Ice's December 30 contest against Chicago from Bankers Life Fieldhouse also has a special 6:05 pm start time.

Notable nights include the Ice's annual "Scout Night" on Saturday, November 9 against the defending Clark Cup Champion Green Bay Gamblers and the 19th annual "Pack the House for Charity Night" on Saturday, March 2 against the Muskegon Lumberjacks.

Preseason action kicks off with three games slated for September 13-15 as the Ice host the "Indiana Ice Fall Showcase" from Pan Am Plaza. Indy plays Thursday and Saturday evening against Chicago and Muskegon respectively, while Muskegon and Chicago will battle in the middle game on Friday. All three games are 7:05 pm face-offs and admission is free of charge.

Single-game tickets go on sale soon and start at $11 and there is a $2 discount for children 10 and under and seniors 62 and over. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster by calling 1-800-745-3000, online at ticketmaster.com or by visiting select Wal-Mart and Simon Mall locations and the Bankers Life Fieldhouse box office.
