Raging Tide Defeat Sharks 9-2 for Third Straight Victory
August 7, 2012 - Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL) Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide
OLD ORCHARD BEACH, ME- The Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide picked up their third straight win as they defeated the Martha's Vineyard Sharks at The Ballpark Tuesday night 9-2. Grayson Porter (Marshall, TX/Baylor University) went 2-4 with a grand slam in the fifth inning, (the first at The Ballpark in Raging Tide history) his third of the season.The Tide took advantage of the Sharks starting pitcher Matt Cook (Hamilton, MA/ Northeastern University) early with three runs and five hits in the first inning.
Starting pitcher Tyler Laverriere (Biddeford, ME/ Saint Joseph's College) secured the victory giving up just one ER with five strikeouts, finishing out the summer with a 4-4 record with a 3.70 ERA.
Jason Vosler (West Nyack, NY/ Northeastern University) went 4-5 with one RBI, raising his batting average to a team high .331 and his currently on a seven game hitting streak.
The Raging Tide return to The Ballpark for their final home game of the season tomorrow as they take on the Seacoast Mavericks for a noon time matinee game.
