GENEVA, IL - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Kansas City Royals, have announced that pitcher Kyle Smith has transferred to the Cougars' active roster, while pitcher Edwin Carl has been transferred to Class-A Advanced Wilmington. This morning's transaction maintains the Cougars' active roster at the league limit of 25 players.Carl (Non-drafted free agent, 2010) picked up the win last night and made two appearances for the Cougars since re-joining the team from Wilmington last week. Smith is scheduled to start this evening's series finale against Cedar Rapids. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
