Great Falls Voyagers News Release

GREAT FALLS - The Great Falls Voyagers (20-10) continued their red-hot sprint through inter-divisional play with a 10-7 comeback win over the Ogden Raptors (17-13) Thursday night at Centene Stadium. It was the Voyagers' seventh win in a row and their tenth in the last eleven games. The win, combined with a Billings loss, gave the Voyagers a four game lead in the division with eight to play in the half.

The Raptors, entering with the second best record in the league, got the first lead when they rallied for two off Keegan Linza in the third. Linza settled after the small speed bump and finished five innings, allowing just the two runs while striking out four. He left with the lead as the Voyagers scored three in the fourth, and was hoping for his third win of the season. The Voyagers added a run in the fifth and two more in the seventh on a Yoandy Barroso two-run double to take a 6-3 lead into the late innings.

Ogden got the leadoff man aboard in the eighth on an error and took off from there. An RBI triple chased Zach Isler from the game for Joseph Dvorsky (2-0), but Dvorsky couldn't stop the bleeding and allowed a pair of runs of his own. By the time the dust settled, the Raptors had taken the lead 7-6. The lead held for approximately three minutes and one pitch when Brad Salgado blasted the first pitch of the bottom half to left center to tie the game at 7-7. One out later, Patrick Palmeiro smashed a double to key a rally that put the Voyagers back on top for good. An RBI double by Micah Johnson and a two-RBI single for Michael Johnson provided the go-ahead runs and matched the Raptors four runs with four runs for the Voyagers. Michael Johnson, added to the Voyagers roster only hours before the game, had three hits, a walk, and scored twice along with the two RBI in his Voyagers debut. Dvorsky gave up a harmless single in the ninth, but otherwise closed the game out without incident.

The Voyagers play the Raptors again Friday night at Centene Stadium. The game starts at 7 PM.
